I'm not referring to disasters or even near-disasters, but simple altercations between passengers/employees even while on the ground.

Sitting in an aeroplane gets so boring that remedial things become relevant.

I have flown so much now and am so bored with it that I look forward to turbulence to wake my cabin pressurised mind into alertness.

After 9/11 the world is more aware of what can happen in the air as well as anywhere else in the world. If you're in the air you are at the mercy of God and your attackers. At least on land you have a fighting chance. Isn't it pitiful how these terrorists have turned our world around? I think tougher security in airplanes is great. Better safe than sorry.

I think it is because we are in a small enclosed space with not much to do. We may be a bit nervous and so watching everything that happens relieves the tension a little.
