well it depends on what you like, well make burgers, mac and cheese, pizza or soft tacos. I guess it depends on the age of the birthday person. well if it is a big crowd, pizza or get subway. pizza probably would b cheaper.

if it is for kids, pizza. if it is for adults, finger food, chicken, subway platers, veggies, hire a cater if it is for adults they can give you ideas. call around, ask your friends and family for ideas. good luck.

Depends on what kind of a birthday party you are having. Is this an elaborate evening or just close friends coming over?

Finger foods and drinks are good before supper.
For the dinner spread
1. Salad (of your choice) - keep the different dressings separately in bowls (2 to 3 kinds of dressing).
2.. Chicken curry - (seasoned or cooked plain) basmati rice to go with it.
3. Grilled fish / Crumb fried fish slices.
4. Have a bread basket of dinner rolls for those who don't prefer rice.
Dessert - brownies and ice-cream

(If you are vegetarian, make a vegetable curry instead of the chicken one. Substitute stir fried vegetables for the grilled fish)

Don't want to go through the trouble of preparing the above. Just order in pizzas as people have suggested here.
:-)

If it is a kids party you can't go wrong with pizzas. Either order in or have the kids make their own "mini" pizzas using English muffins and various toppings. Another idea I love to do is to get a bunch of appetizers and have those and some sub sandwhiches cut into individual sizes.

If you live where it is nice outside, a cook out with burgers and hot dogs is also a good/simple idea.

If it's for a child then hotdogs and hamburgers. But an adult party..I would just put out finger foods like chicken wings, finger sandwiches, devilled eggs, raw vegs and dip, etc

for adults - BBQ Chicken and burgers OR, if you want get a little more upscale, do some kabobs with salad, garlic bread and maybe a fruit salad. Kids primarily - no brainer, I agree with the pizza.
