I assume you are referring to genital herpes? Rather than the common cold sore variety, which is herpes simplex?

It cannot be cured, but outbreaks can be treated.

The golden rule is not to have sex when you are suffering an outbreak.

One in eight people have genital herpes, many do not know they even have it.

See your doctor, as with any medical condition.

You can certainly get married and have children. It is a condition that has to be managed.

Yes, there are quite a few people with herpes.
Actually everyone is born with herpes symplex 1.
That is every time you get a cold sore it is basically a herpe.
But once you get symplex 2 or 3 theres no going back.
All you can do is suppress it when you have an outbreak.
Wich means you can stop that outbreak but not future ones.
So if someone is marrying another with herpes the best thing to do is let them know about it.
So that both can keep an eye on it and dont have intercourse (or anything else) at the time of the outbreak.
Hope that helps out a little bit.

if you have contracted herpes you'll have it for life - there is no cure for it so you may as well get on with your life and, yes, get married!
Not without letting your partner know that you have it of course - and remember herpes is only contagious when you have a breakout...this varies from person to person...some people get breakouts every 6months and some every year and some once in many many years!
Advice from your doctor...honesty with your partner and positive thinking will help you through it.
Good luck!

I got diagnosed with the herpes simplex virus (type 2) about 5 years ago, when I was still attending college and had a mindless one-night stand. I know loads of young women say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a mistake that one time and all of a sudden I felt like I was going to have to live with the implications for my entire life. The worst part was feeling I could never date men again. After all, who wants to go out with someone who has sores around her "you know what" area? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/jYHoQ everything improved.

Not only was I able to eradicate all traces of the hsv from my body in less than 21 days, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so blessed to write that just a week ago, in front of everybody in a crowded restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!!! This system provided the opportunity to be happy and experience true love again. Now I hope that I can help others by sharing this story.

absolutely. If you are worried about spreading the disease, Get on a drug like Valtrax that will help stop your outbreaks. An STD is no reason to put yourself on a shelf and say you are no good. You dont even have to find someone that has herpes as well. Just be honest with your mate. If the person cares about you then they will understand and accept you for who you are and not worry about what you have.

Thats like asking if someone who has the cold can get married, or has dermatitis or something?!

If what you mean is, is it likely you will catch it from your husband/wife if you sleep together after getting married, then yes it could be a possibility as it is infectious and incurable. But its not the end of the world, what it mean is that your partner would need to be careful during a flare up and not have sex with you until it has passed.

If you love this person, it shouldn't matter.

are you in love? well than that depends if your partner wants to marry someone with herps. as you will be using a condom for the rest of your life until death do you apart. ask your partner that question if he or she would like to marry a person with herps. where on earth did you get that kind of strange diseases?

what do you mean? why wouldn't they be able to marry? herpes is caused by a virus spread through skin-skin contact. same virus causes cold sores on the mouth. so technically you could infect other areas of your body if you don't wash your hands when you have a blister. it shouldn't stop you leading a normal life. your future wife/husband may already carry the virus themselves but not know it.
