yes, if one has complete obstruction in the esophagus then the respiratory mucous that was to be swallowed regurgitates, but this can typically be life threatning condition. If you have some mucous in your throat occasionally it can be from chronic sinususitis, see a doctor if symptoms persist or worsen, good luck
