You can substitute what ever you want for thanksgiving instead of a turkey. Instead of the traditional ham and turkey this year I suggested fish. I haven't eatin ham or turkey for thanksgiving in years. Year after year of the same old bird and pig got tired. As for the side dishes they never get old. Happy Turkey Day........or should I say Pheasant or Blue Heron Day.

I don't know about herons but pheasants are sort of like a skimpy gamier turkey so live it up with that.

regrettably, all 'food market turkeys' are processed in great manufacturing unit farms in rather inhumane situations. Wild interest is a much extra humane existence for them until they're taken for meat. there is likewise 'wild turkey' for looking, returned, a extra helpful existence than manufacturing unit farm. appreciate Thanksgiving, yet do no longer overlook to thank the animal you're eating too.

Why not? Go for it. Give one poor turkey a break this year. But I'll be getting mine soon.

In some states it is against the law. Turkey laws are becoming stiffer and stiffer, and in some cases, you will end up in the pen.
