It sounds as though your husbands problems mirror my mum's ones. She has just been diagnosed with diabetes last year and as a result of this condition has developed sleep apnoea. This sleep apnoea was causing mum to sleep around about 12 hours a day yet she still woke up tired. Eventually she was diagnosed after her doctor sent her for a sleep study where they found that whilst asleep, mum stopped breathing 45 times in 1 hour. The reason for this is because because her throat relaxes whilst she sleeps causing it to close and so she stops breathing and wakes up. In the morning she is still tired because hardly any oxygen was getting to her brain. However, she now has a little machine that she wears to bed which gives her a constant flow of oxygen so there is no risk of her stopping breathing and it lets her have a full nights sleep which means she needs less and wakes up refreshed. I would recommend your husband speaks to his doctor because it is risky if left untreated, but don't worry, it can easily be corrected. Good luck

I'm with Shelly M above. See a doctor to rule things out. It wouldn't hurt to be told that he is all right, at least you will have peace of mind.

He's probably just sleepy from all that walking :) But it never hurts to go to the doctor and check things out.

He's in his 60's. Let him sleep, sheez. The poor guy probably has worked all his life and is now enjoying retirement.
