Jesus asked Peter "Do you love me". Peter replied that he did. Jesus simply said "Feed my Sheep". We are saved by Faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost. Once we are "saved", and confess we love the Savior, we have to feed his sheep. Is that the LAW? No that is the LOVE.
Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. If you would have us ignore the commandments, then I say to you, Satan, get thee behind me.

We believe that we are saved by both.
Mosiah 13:27-28
And now ye have said that salvation cometh by the law of Moses. I say unto you that it is expedient that ye should keep the law of Moses as yet: but I say unto you, that the time shall come when it shall no more the law of Moses.
And moreover, I say unto you, htat salvation doth not come by the law alone; and were it not for the atonement...that they [his people] must unavoidably perish, notwithstanding the law of Moses.
3 Nephi 15:10
Behold, I have given unto you the commandments; therefore keep my commandments. And this is the law and the prophets, for they truly testified of me.
2 Nephi 25:23-27
...for we know it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.
And, notwithstanding we believe in Christ, we keep the law of Moses, and look forward with steadfastness unto Christ, until the law shall be fulfilled.
For, for this end was the law given; wherefore the law hath become dead unto us, and we are made alive in Christ because of our faith; yet we keep the law because of the commandments.
And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophecy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins.
Wherefore, we speak concerning the law that our children may know that deadness of the law: and they, by knowing the deadness of the law, may look forward unto that life which is in Christ, and know for what end the law was given. And after the law is fulfilled in Christ, that they need not harden their hearts against him when the law ought to be done away.
As for the difference between that which is hot and that which is cold as cited in Revelation, the hot signifies or represents that part of the church which knows the truth and believes the gospel and they act on it. The opposite, or the cold, are those who do not know, do not believe, and are not a part of the church. The middle ground would be either a member or non-memeber who believes and know of the truth but will not act on it or change themselves to be in the right in the eyes of God.
See Romans 2:5-10.
We will be judged according to our deeds which includes our faithfullness in obeying the law/commandments that he has given us, but after we have done our best we will still not be good enough to enter into his kingdom so it is those who have faith and act upon that faith who will be saved by the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ which is given to us through his atonement. That is what it means to be saved by grace.
I spouted off the things I could remeber off the top of my head yesterday and now I've found some scriptures that I think will help clarify what we, as Mormons, believe. Again, we believe that works without faith is dead, so is the law without the grace of Christ, both are needed and important.
2 Nephi 2:13
And if ye shall say there is no law, ye shall say there is no sin. If ye shalll say there is no sin ye shall also say there is no righteousness. And if there be no righteousness there be no happiness. And if there be no righteousness nor happiness there be no punishment nor misery. And if these things are not there is no God. And if there is no God we are not, neither the earth; for there could have been no creation of things, neither to act nor to be acted upon; wherefore, all things musht have vanished away.
Alma 42:22-23
But there is a law given, and a punishment affixed, and a repentance granted; which repentance, mercy claimeth; otherwise, justice claimeth the creature and executeth the law, and the law inflicteth the punishment; if not so, the works of justice would be destroyed, and God would cease to be God.
But God ceaseth not to be God, and mercy claimeth the penitent, and mercy cometh because of the atonement;
2 Nephi 2:8-9, 27-28
Wherefore, how great the importance to make these thing known unto the inhabitants of the earth, that they may know that there is no flesh that can dwell in the presence of God, save it be through the merits, and mercy, and grace of the Holy Messiah, who layeth down his life according to the flesh, and taketh it again by the power of the Spirit, that he may bring to pass the resurrection of the dead, being the first that should rise.
Wherefore, he is the firstfruits unto God, insomuch as he shall make intercession for all the children of men; and they that believe in him shall be saved.
Wherefore, men are free according to the flesh; and all things are given them which are expedient unto man. And they are free to choose liberty and eternal life, through the freat Mediator of all men, or to choose capivity and death, according to the captivity and power of the devil; for he seeketh that all men might be miseable like unto himself.
And now, my sons, I would that ye should look to the great Mediator, and hearken unto his great commandments [law]; and be faithful unto his words, and choose eternal life, according to the will of his Holy Spirit;
