When the body is sick or under stress, it produces hormones called cortisol that makes the body less sensitive to insulin. The blood sugar goes up and gives the symptoms that u have mentioned above. Its very important that you keep taking your daily medications/insulin and monitor your blood glucose level using a blood glucose meter. If the blood sugar goes way up, consult ur dr. He may want to increase your medication for this period of time. As for diet, take regular small meals (about 5-6 times a day). Increase your fibre intake. Fibre helps to slow down digestion and slow down the absorbtion of sugar from the gut.
Hope that helps!

If you think you are diabetic you should see your doctor. No one can tell you how to manage or treat it here. There are several other things that have the same symptoms, and body temperature going up, fever, it is not a symptom of diabetis. Diabetic control is about life style, you should not drink alcohol, you should eat a well balanced diet and avoid any foods high in saturated fats or sugar. The problem with being diabetic is your body is not producing enough insulin to get rid of the sugar you take in. If your blood sugar is high than it can cause a lot of problems, and it is nothing to play with. See your doctor, if your blood pressure is high, if you are diabetic, and if your cholesterol is high, there is a perfect combination for a stroke to happen. You really need to see a doctor, it is a fasting blood test you need done in order to determine diabetic status. This is nothing to eat after midnight the night before, get the blood work in the morning, go eat, and go back for more blood work 2 hours after you have eat. Keep in mind every hospital or clinic does have diabetic teaching, like things to avoid like sugars, saturated fats, smoking, and alcohol. The best advice anyone can give you is go see your doctor, ASAP.

The only way to diagnose diabetes, or many other medical conditions, is to visit your doctor and have him do a complete physical and run the correct blood/urine tests. If you do actually have diabetes, he is the best person to advise you on the proper way to treat and manage it. You could well have other problems besides diabetes, or no problem at all. It is not worth the risk to trust any diagnosis you get from an answer board, where you can't even see the person giving you the advice. The best and only wise choice is to visit your doctor for exam and treatment.

No. All the symptoms sounds like a pretty typical reaction to stress anyway. You may be worried abou the "urinating too much" and "thirsty" - as it might sound like disabetes. However, a diabetic would have those two symptoms most of the time - not just when they are stressed.

But your symptoms means you do need to see a doctor - not only to make sure whether you are diabetic or not, but to make sure you health is ok.

When my daughter was diagnosed she was very thirsty for about 2 weeks. Since she was on a select soccer team we didn't think anything was wrong. She was very tired and that was not at all typical for her. Her vision started to get a little blurry. ( She couldn't see a digital clock from across the room.)
If you don't have access to a doctor you can buy some ketostix at any drug store and test your urine for ketones. If you have a positive result you really need to see a doctor.
I hope you feel better and this helps
