you drink that much because your body is telling you to drink. maybe you just get dehydrated easily. regardless, you can never drink too much water.

Excessive urination and extreme thirst (especially for cold water) are typical for DI. Symptoms of diabetes insipidus are quite similar to those of untreated diabetes mellitus, with the distinction that the urine is not sweet and there is no hyperglycemia (elevated blood glucose). Blurred vision is a rarity.
The extreme urination continues throughout the day and the night. In children, DI can interfere with appetite, eating, weight gain, and growth as well. They may present with fever, vomiting, or diarrhea. Adults with untreated DI may remain healthy for decades as long as enough water is drunk to offset the urinary losses. However, there is a continuous risk of dehydration

It is true that excessive thirst can mean diabetes. Are you sure the doctors have checked your long time sugar? Some tests you might want to inquire about are hemoglobin A1C/fructosamine... and even a finger stick to check your sugar on the spot.
Other signs of diabetes are frequent urination and Excessive thirst, Extreme hunger, Unusual weight loss, Increased fatigue, Irritability & Blurry vision.

I do the exact same thing. I drink about 10 full glasses of water a day, and am constantly thirsty. I hope you find out why, because I'd like to know also.

Be sure and have a thyroid panel done in your blood test. Everyone thought I had diabetes, because I drank so much, but turns out I was hyperthyroid. If you're truly thirsty, then look into it, if it's just a habit, then it may be nothing.

I don't know the answer to your question, although I don't think that drinking that much water could really hurt you. Perhaps you work outside or sweat a lot...
Seriously, though, if you think there is something wrong with your health, you should see a doctor about it. If you aren't satisfied then, get a second opinion.
