The meditteranean diet : lots of fish and olive oil (against cancer), garlic (it's good for your heart), plenty of raw vegatables ( they don't lose their vitamins) and less fat and red meat. I would strongly recommend the greek diet. The problem with the italian cuisine is that while it can be very savoury, at the same time can be fattening with all that pasta and sauces.
