Hi buddy,

The HIV virus is a very fragile virus that gets easily killed on drying or contact with ordinary toilet soap or even very dilute spirit. The world wide fear of this infection is not because it gets easily transmitted or that its a tough virus to kill. Its just because the virus attacks the patient's immune system. Death in an HIV infected person comes in the form of other diseases that attack the person when his body's defence mechanisms are in a weak state.
Human saliva is not demonstrated by research to contain enough load of virus as to cause infection to another person ingesting it. There is a theoretical possibility of the virus getting transmitted thru deep kissing, if the kisser has a mouth ulcer. The virus in that case has a (very small) chance to enter the body of the individual thru this open wound in the mouth. Still the virus may not survive the variable pH levels and salt concentrations of the human saliva. And all the more, the probability of this type of transmission is less than 0.01% . In day to day life that kind of probability is considered as ZERO chance...! Hence we, healthcare workers don't consider saliva as a potential source of infection. Like wise, the chance of a mosquito transmitting the virus is somewhere near 0.004%..!!

Regarding Web sources on AIDS, the United Nations' website is the ultimate knowledge bank ... Log on to www.unaids.org and find a wealth of info and links.
All the best.
Bye.

A small trace is in the saliva but not likely enough to infect someone. Also you would have to be careful because blood from a sore or bleeding gums even biting your tongue. This could raise the risk when kissing someone hiv positive.

Yes it is possible. However a lot of fluid must be exchanged while doing the Deep kissing. But also take this into consideration... if either of you have an open sore in your mouth , then the possibility of contracting the virus increases dramatically. Rememeber just because you dont feel the pain of an open sore or canker sore or in your mouth , does not mean you do not have one. Bleeding gums or just a scratch or a bit lip can be a reason to be cautious.

HIV virus can be spread through saliva but it is very very negligible. Some doctors say u have to drink a bucket full of saliva from one infected person to get infected. So, its true it can be spread but nothing to panic.

you have to swallow more than 1 liter of HIV saliva victim.
dont tell me your gonna kiss and suck all his saliva? no.
it wont be transmitted... "provided"...
there is no wound or any blood gingivitis inside his mouth.. coz when blood is in contact to non HIV+ people, it will be transmitted.
any open wound will transmit the + blood into the new host.
so be careful kissing a HIV victim make sure he/she is clear from wounds and bleeding gums.
liters of saliva ok?
dont treat them like others, be normal to them , we should not discriminate anyone of these illness. they are human and to be treated like one, without biases and prejudism.

HIV can be transmitted through direct contact with the blood or body fluid of someone who is infected with the virus. That contact usually comes from sharing needles or by having unprotected sex with an infected person. An infant could get HIV from a mother who is infected.

HIV is not spread through:

casual contact, such as hugs or handshakes
drinking glasses
sneezes
coughs
mosquitoes or other insects
towels
toilet seats
doorknobs

HIV can be transmitted through contact with ANY bodily secretions/fluids. French kissing should not be performed with an infected partner if you, yourself, do not also have the infection.

If you have an open sore or any blood around the gum line, these are very risky behaviors as the virus needs blood to blood contact, ( you can probably throw in cankor sores ) as a safe precaution. Go to Google and type in AIDS.
