Hello,
I am female, 25 yrs. I love a person of age 32yrs who is diabetic since past 1 year.
I have the following questions:
1) What is the chance of getting diabetic from my hubby(who is diabetic) after getting marriage.
2) What are the chances of my child getting diabetic, due to father being diabetic.
Is there any risk factors of my loves life. How long i can trust his life span to be? I m much worried, bcoz i love him very much but feared of his health factor.
I don't know of his type of diabetics he is suffering from. But what i know is he does not take any insulin injections, he takes only medicines. He never takes right and regular diets as well as regular exercise as well as medicines in time.
He always talks in inferior way. says he is getting severe headache, stomach pain etc.
Recently he has gone through ECG, Cancer tests also, but he has no problems as of now.
Please help me in getting the my life's decision to be balanced.
Thanking you.

1. Diabetes is not communicable between sexual partners.
2. The link after the number 2 is a useful one for this question.
3. Impotency can happen but there are many treatments for this. Impotency in a diabetic is a function of blood glucose control. It is important for health, as well as sexual health, to keep the blood glucose under control 80-150 points.
I am diabetic and it is very much a struggle. Approaching a diabetic about controlling their problems is a very sensitive issue for the diabetic. When their sugars are not regulated they are over sensitive and irratable. Independent of your relationship, he needs to take control of his life and his diabetes because he is causing himself great harm by not doing this. If he needs help with dealing with these problems he could seek counciling. Good luck... I hope all is for the best.
Oh by the way. Definately educate yourself on this topic because little loop holes in the dialog between you and your significant could cause problems in the long term. Little misunderstandings get blown out of proportion when the diabetic has out of control sugars. Show understanding and love not judgements.

Diabetes is nowhere near a death sentence. I'm sure he'll be fine. If he doesn't take insulin, then he's fine. Since he only takes a medication, there's a large chance that he's type 2, the "good" kind (I use that term loosely.)
If he has problems, he should go to the doctor. But many diabetic people live normal lives. There's NO chance you'll "catch" diabetes, it doesn't work like that. However, if you end up eating very badly for many years, you could develop it.
Any children you have probably won't be born with it, but may end up getting it later. However, this can be prevented by eating healthy food, and getting a normal amount of exercise.
A lot of people (I've heard about 60 Million) have diabetes. But other than not eating sweets, and taking a pill everyday, type 2 diabetics are fine. Type 1 requires insulin shots daily (not all the time, but a lot of them do), and they must check their glucose levels often.
If he's adapted his life, he'll be fine.

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.
I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.
I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

Well first of all you can't catch diabetes from someone. Depending on what kind of diabetes he has there is a chance your children will have it. You don't really seem to know much about diabetes so I would suggest that you start reading and/or going to a support group to learn more about the disease. Your going to have to know much more than you do if your going to help your boyfriend/husband manage his diabetes. If he takes good care of himself he will have a normal life span. The main things he needs to do, especially if he's on insulin injections is to test his blood up to 4 times a day take his medications as directed, eat a balanced diet as recommended be the diabetes association, If he's over weight he should with his doctors help try to loose weight, No alcohol, get exercise, and make sure he has regular checkups that include checking his feet. (diabetics have problems with ulcers. My best advice is that you educate yourself on the disease so you understand how it effects him and what you can do to make sure he stays healthy. Hope this helps.

No, you cannot catch it from anyone, not from sex or by any other way. If he was dx'd one year ago, he's likely type 2. Being overweight and having a family history of the disease are the biggest contributors to type 2. If you have kids, they may be at risk, but if they eat well, and stay fit, they can live many years and maybe never develop it. My father was diagnosed at 75 and he is 80 now and is still healthy. I am 48 and am the only one of my 5 brothers and sisters to get it- but I was overweight for many years, which I am certain brought the disease on earlier. You're husband can live many years and be healthy, but he must be careful about what he eats, exercize, and take any medication the doctors advise- religiously. He's lucky- diabetes cannot be cured but it is one of the disease that we can control by lifestyle choices, in most instances.

Khaja - The question is difficult. First, you must have knowledge of the health difficulties related to diabetes, such as treatment, cardiovascular risks, vision impairment, kidney disorders. Does the person maintain good control of blood sugar levels and really try to live a healthy life? If you know all this, and your love is great enough, then yes you can marry a diabetic, but ONLY you know whether you truly love the person and can accept the diabetes in return for the love. Salaam !

the chances of you getting diabetes are slim if you follow a healthy lifestyle. And your family members donot have any past history of diabetes.
however your child has 50% chances of diabetes i later stages of life.(normal lifestyle)
your husband has type 2 diabetes is less severe than type 1
but if nelected can lead to kidney failure and other complications.(happened with my grandmother she passed away early)
tell him to follw regular diet ,do exercises not to take stress
yoga and pranayama can cure diabetes if done prperly.
GOODLUCK AND ALL THE BEST !!
