Earliest case of HIV confirmed. HIV-1 was found in blood samples of an African man who died in 1959

First known case of HIV in the U.S. - Teen prostitute with Kaposi's Sarcoma and HIV dies in 1969

I've read that science thinks the disease was around before the second world war, we might find out eventually it's always been around.

Two species of HIV infect humans: HIV-1 and HIV-2. HIV-1 is thought to have originated in southern Cameroon after jumping from wild chimpanzees (Pan troglodytes troglodytes) to humans during the twentieth century.
HIV-2 may have originated from the Sooty Mangabey (Cercocebus atys), an Old World monkey of Guinea-Bissau, Gabon, and Cameroon.
HIV-1 is the most virulent. It is easily transmitted and is the cause of the majority of HIV infections globally.
HIV-2 is less transmittable and is largely confined to West Africa.
HIV-1 is the virus that was initially discovered and termed LAV.

Three of the earliest known instances of HIV-1 infection are as follows:

A plasma sample taken in 1959 from an adult male living in what is now the Democratic Republic of Congo.

HIV found in tissue samples from a 15 year old African-American teenager who died in St. Louis in 1969.

HIV found in tissue samples from a Norwegian sailor who died around 1976.

Research it. You will find that the HIV/ AIDS virus originated in Asia. But I have also heard about the connection of the virus with monkeys as well. Only the monkeys are not affected by the virus as humans are.

i agree with nicname. hiv/aids started about the time we let boat people into the USA.they had strains of STDs that we had no cure for.the same as herpes. after many labs have tried to control hiv/aids with different antibodies. the strain has become resistant. it happens each year with the flu shots. whatever you don't listen to boysangel. his mama was a monkey.

i know this sounds crazy..... i read a book on secret societies, well a s.s. called club of Rome is made up of some of the most influential people in the world. from behind the scenes they are said to have heavy influence on politics around the world. it is also said that they felt that Africa was a drain on world economics. they then had developed a virus to help control the population and introduced it as a vaccination against smallpox in Africa.
it is also rumored that they then introduced it to USA to control population of gays.the book is by Michael Bradley.
