My Mom has pre-diabetes. What cereal can she eat that is a lower-sugar version of Cheerios?

All cereals have the about same amount of calories (125/serving) whether it is from carbs or sugar. It's not the sugar that causes diabetes, anyway. I am type 2 diabetic and eat Cheerios almost every day. Aside from that, Cheerios has no sugar in it. Are you referring to Honey Nut Cheerios? Either way, it makes no difference. Carbs or sugar, it all turns into blood glucose. Since Cheerios is made from whole grain oats, it is quite good for her (and you). You really need to get a book called "Diabetes Improvement" by Patrick Quillin. It will help you understand that she can eat practically anything if she keeps her carbs and sugar in check. If she follows the advice in the book, she will probably never have to go on medication or suffer any diabetic complications. Did you know that cinnamon will help her insulin work better? Yes, this is in that book. I've linked the USDA webpage on cinnamon on my diabetes info webpage:

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.

Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

Kashi brands, Steel Cut Oatmeal, etc. (so many cereals available, just check the sugar content). Diabetics can have "some" sugar so pick one with less then 10 g.

An alternative to cereal is yogurt with walnuts added for an extra crunch.
