You sure can...a pimple is nothing more than an infection in a hair follicle or a pore in the skin, usually caused by a clogging of the entrance so that skin oils (sebum) collect which provides a medium for growth of bacteria.

Your pubes have both pore and hair follicles like the rest of your skin and that area because its covered tends to hold moisture and allows for clogging of the pores and follicles.

Pimples are common there....

If pus was present, it is a good indication that it is not any kind of STI or STD. I'm a hypochondriac and have for years feared that I had something wonky going on, but keep in mind that the are you're talking about is so sensitive and prone to infection. I get consistent ingrown hairs down there, and they're usually deeply embedded and painful. With the limited contact you've had, I wouldn't worry. But just be sure when you are active with a guy, ask if he's had cold sores before he goes down there. and condoms are your best friend. Now. Keep washing with mild soap, and try running hot water over a washcloth and apply heat to the area, or use a heating pad. Sometimes if you loosen up the skin, a hair will free itself. Just don't pick at it! Good luck, sister-friend.

I don't think it sounds like herpes. Herpes are small, about the size of a pencil eraser, and are inside and around your vagina area. The bump u have is most likely either an ingrown hair, or possibly a boil-type bump. Since it popped, I would guess the boil. I know that sounds nasty, but it's actually pretty common, especially since you said you have been working out and wearing tight clothes. You did the right thing by keeping it clean, and just keep applying an anti-biotic cream and it should go away on it's own in a few days. You can also use hot washrags and put on the area to draw it out some. Hope this helps!

If you shave it's easy to get ingrown hairs which then get infected and look just like pimples.

You can get pimples anywhere on your body (any parts that have hair) - that is why you don't get pimples on the sole of your feet and the palm of your hands

Except for on the palms of your hands and the soles of your feet, I think you can get them anywhere, unfortunately.
