Indian, here. I find those terms offensive. I find all such terms offensive, however. Just because some people don't does not mean they were not originally, and are not still, basically racist.
His name was spelt 'G-a-n-d-h-i', by the way.
It's one thing for Pakistani people to use the word 'Pxki', and totally another for white, or non-Subcontinental people to do so.
Kind of like Jewish jokes -- the only people who should tell them are Jewish people.
Or the 'nxggxr' word. If black folk want to use it among themselves, in their way, so be it. I don't use language like that. 'Pxki' is JUST as offensive! So is 'Chxnk', 'Spxck', 'Kxkx', 'Hxmx', etc.
Not a big fan of the National Front, nor the Klan, me.

I guess it would offend as much as asking for an Edinburgher in a McDonalds OR a paddy fry as opposed to a Belfast fry OR a full Engerlund OR a Jock Breakfast as we have the Scottish breakfast which is different from a Full English OR Sheep molesters rarebit as opposed to Welsh Rarebit / Cheese on toast

I'm neither Chinese nor Indian. Ask yourself this though. How would like to be treated and thought of by others.

no. normally they dont mind - because they know the lingo associated with their countries and culture.
but i am not sure if it is a good thing to say such stuff in front of them. it sure comes across as a very thoughtless thing to do.
