It is a medical term...I don't mean High Definition Televison. I think it has something to do with STDs. Someone had asked me to look it up for them. I think they said it came back in a pap smear that they took.

HPV stands for Human Papilloma Virus, and it can be detected by a Pap smear. Maybe you misheard it--"P" and "T" can sound alike.

Probably HPV, which is human papilloma virus. This virus can cause cervical cancer if it is not treated. It is found in most people at some point in their lives but most people do not show any signs. This HPV can be detected on pap smear. It can be the cause of condylomata acuminata (genital warts) but all this can be treated and detected early on pap smears. If she has HPV, she needs to be treated, probably with cryotherapy. she should ask her doc about this.

my guess is also HPV

go to wikipedia.com and insert HPV in the search bar and it will tell you EVERYTHING about it
