I live in Northern Europe, in Scandinavia. We prefer to have either domestic foods like fish or meat with potatoes. Salmon (both rainbow troat) and Atlantic salmon are popular. Wild animals like moose and reindeer are favoured when celebrating.

Dishes from Southern Europe turn to be more and more popular. Pizzas from Italian, vegetable dishes from Greece...and hamburgers among young people!

I prefer all kinds of soya food and cook myself dishes like pasta with rough soya meal (which can replace minced meat) or tofu-based dishes. They, as well as the replacement of butter by olive oil, help me against overweight and threating adult-type diabetes.

We drink a lot of milk here in Northern Europe! Beer and wines have partly replaced milk among young people in cities, but older people still prefer milk.

The traditional Northern menu has caused epidemic heart diseases and hypertension. New, lighter kitchen helps us against them, I hope so.

We're Indian (from India) though my husband and I were born here in New YOrk. We eat a variety of foods from all over the world but our traditional Indian meals always have rice, some type of bean or peas dish (dal), vegetables and maybe chicken or fish. We also eat a type of bread similar to tortillas except they're made from whole wheat instead of corn.

We also eat a lot of yogurt (plain, not sweetened) which is good for your digestive system and a simple salad called cachumber made from chopped red onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, cilantro, lime juice and salt.
