If you are hosting it, then make certain there is romantic music playing, lots of food, drinks, snacks.
Toast the happy couple.
Just enjoy. It will be a fun party.

Since you didn't specify what information you wanted I am going to reach out of the sky here. Also since the people before me gave you some ideas about food (brunch, cocktails, BBQ, and smaller gathering) I am going to cover different angles. You need to know what ages of people are coming, If there are going to be little kids (5-10) maybe get or rent a movie for them to watch so they won't be underfoot after you eat. Play a few games, the last party I went I was bored to tears becuase all we did was eat open presents and went home. Games I suggest would be have some people guess stuff about the waay your guy or you proposed, how you met, what you did for your first date and so on. Whoever gets the most questions right gets a prize. (like a sented candel which are pretty cheap or a bath set ranging from 4-12 bucks) If you have heaps and heaps of presents and your planning on sending thank you notes simply tape the card to the present or no card have paper ready to writ the name and tape the paper. This was you won't be spenging 3 minutes after each present writing down what it was and who it was from. (the time for this really adds up) Other than that all I can say is have fun be creative you never know what you could think up.

play some John Legend music
light aromatic candles around the place
make appetizers and a light dessert
have some wine or champagne
and don't forget to take pictures throughout the evening

Definitely pick a color theme - that makes it all work. Display the
bride to be and groom to be's pictures. Helium balloons tied to a giant engagement ring would be cute.
