How old is your friend anyway? No you can't catch genital herpes over the telephone.

Sadly yes. you will get a type of herpes around the mouth. any physical contact with that area will get you infected. I knew somebody who got it around the mouth area. If the herpes virus gets on the phone and you use it. It will go on your mouth and reproduce asexually. Divide. It is true. My health teachers said so. Its called Type 2. You totally can. Okay maybe not. All I know is that my health teacher said you could. Everyone keeps saying no. Plus the guy that compared it to AIDS. Both viruses behave differently. Aids is not transferred by direct contact. But Herpes is. To your question you can't catch genital herpes. But you can catch oral herpes.

a couple thoughts... most importantly, there is more than one type of herpes virus.
if your friend is talking about getting herpes from talking to someone on the other end of the line with herpes... then no, definitely not.
however... type 2 herpes (aka coldsores of the mouth) could potentially be spread via contact with the virus if it was on the headset of the phone. if a person with an active coldsore was using the phone and got the puss from their coldsore on the phone and then you used the phone later and somehow had contact with the inside of your mouth, or some other mucus membrane on/in your body... you could potentially contract the virus. this is very very unlikely... and kinda gross to think about... but yes, you could contract type 2 from that sort of contact. genital herpes via phone contact... i just don't want to go there

No There is no way to get Herpes over the telephone. The only way you can get herpes is through sex and direct direct skin contact.

no your friend is being stupid there is no way possible for that to happen that would be like saying if u talk to someone with aids you'll get infected just from talking to them. u should think before u ask stupid questions
