The worst thing to hear in a patient with asthma is nothing at all...especially if their lips, tongue and earlobes are blue.

Next to that I would have to say high pitched wheezing upon exhalation.

But in general...any abnormal breathing is not a good thing.

I also have asthma and the worst thing to hear is nothing at all because that would mean your not moving air into your lungs.

The worst thing to hear in a asthma pt. NOTHING... then you better yank out your best albuterol baby it will be a bumpy ride. lol

It would definitely be not hearing any breath sounds, which indicates no air movement.
