Another question said today is World Diabetic Day. I'm hosting a party and all diabetics are invited. Since it is short notice, I need some help with the menu, so it will be potluck. I though I would make a big plate of white chocolate chip brownies with chocolate drizzled across the top, a buttermilk cake with caramel icing and a big batch of caramel popcorn. Who is coming? What dish are you going to bring?

Yes Buffalo I am being funny. I've been taking insulin injections 7 years longer than you so I know very well the scars on my stomach and finger pricks. I realize that diabetes is serious, and I do take my health seriously, but sometimes you just have to lighten up a bit.

Sorry guys for all the spelling errors and omitted words. It's hard to spell check and host a party at the same time.

I'll bring my amputated feet to feast on as soon as my dialysis session is done. I'll have to find a driver cause I'm blind, but I'll be there!!

Life is so hard and people are so up tight now... been a diabetic for 30+ years now.... a gift from mom, yes, it gets old, but I agree that laughing brings down your blood sugar!! hopefully when we die.... we will be in the chocolate cheese cake section

Have a great time at the party.... don't forget to take some extra insulin!!!

I'm gonna bring my bestest red-devil's food cake with fudge frosting!!!

I think some nice Mexican-style hot chocolate too (cuz it's chilly here today!), as well as lots and lots of PIZZA!!! (Still haven't gone to advanced pump training to figure out the dual/square boluses!!)

Oh, yeah...lots of homemade caramels too! And marzipan...

Anita I like your sense of humor yeah I agree you have to stop taking everything seriously and laugh about it every once in a while I used to take the injections to now I'm on the pump and yes scars are every where from both and my fingers look like crap too.
