I have had a cough for 3 weeks, maybe more- and the congestion shows up every day after I start my day. At night I do not cough at all. But as soon as I start my day and move around my cough comes back and I hear congestion and sometimes wheezing deep in my chest. I have no shortness of breath....just an ongoing annoying cough. I am on antibiotics too- so it must be viral?

Since you mentioned wheezing you need to call your doctor and update them. He may want to prescribe something for the congestion as well as a nebulizer treatment for the wheezing. Either way call the docs office and report these symptoms to his nurse. Since the clinic is still open hopefully call today.

if you smoke and you are recovering from a cold probably about 5 weeks

if you dont smoke the cough should last about a week

sounds to me like you've got bronchitis, the antibiotics should clear it up
