Cold sores...they can be gotten by the breaking of a fever, the infection of a break in the lip's skin, or through contact with someone (or someone's drink) who has a cold sore.
Take some aspirin NOW and it may not come at all. My grandmother taught me that, and it works very well for me. Take it at the first sign of a cold sore and it may prevent it. If it comes anyway, take aspirin while you have it and it will disappear faster. I have also found that grinding up aspirin, mixing it with water, and caking the mixture on the sore itself helps it to go down. Chapstick, even medicated ones, aren't always helpful and you are spreading the cold sore germs to the stick.
Good luck!

A cold sore is tranfered from someone else who had one. You could have shared the same drink or whatever. They are very contageous!! It usually feels itchy and burning in the first stage, which is called shedding. This is the most contageous time. Be very careful when you have a cold sore, or think you might be getting one. ALWAYS wash your hands before and after you go to the bathroom, and don't touch "down there". The simplex virus 1 (cold sore), can be transfered to your genitals. And that's something you definitely don't want!

Cold sores are a form of herpis. Dont get alarmed because almost everyone has it. You usually get it when you're young and they occur at times in your life when you are stressed out or nervous a lot. You can get medicine at the grocery and the sooner you get it on the less painful it will be and sooner it will go away. Go get some.

herpes virus, you can carry the virus for a longtime and bam you got a cold sore. They have lip balm that help. You can also spread it from kissing and sharing lip balms. My husband gave me cold sores it took 3 months to get rid of them.

it is a form of herpes though not necessarily sexually transmitted...it is a latent virus and that is just how it makes itself known...however if you have herpes on your mouth you can infect others and give them genital herpes if you go down on them so you might want to refrain from that if your planning on it...and if you have reoccuring cold sores id talk to a doctor...good luck
