I'm planning a corporate event and this is my first time doing an event on my own. I'm not sure as to how much I should charge my client. Is it better to do a flat fee? Should I do a percentage of the total cost? A combination? Only serious answers, please.

There are so many variables that you must consider: catering? how many will attend? Will there be alcohol? Do you need staff to wait on guests - since they all need money too - stuff like that. This venue is not always gonna get you good advice, since we do not have all the info.

Have fun. And if there are glitches (there WILL be) try to incorporate them into the event as though they were intended to be there - if you can!! or apologise in a letter after the event to your immediate superior person and reduce your fee a tad.

Well...I would think that a percentage is in order...but then how do they know you are doing what you can to save them money? So maybe just an hourly flat fee? Do some research on local event planners.

Definitely research several event planners and see how much they charge and in what form. Also, do you have a budget for this event? You might want to consider what you are willing to spend and then take it from there.

I have heard 10-20% of the total budget is a usual amount for professionals.

how did you get the activities you had once you first opened? despite the fact which you probably did needless to say worked so i recommend you do it returned on account that your organization isn't doing too properly i recommend you reassess your 2d merchandising, mutually as you have no longer have been given lots company to decrease your fee via 50% is super, i could make it according to risk 20% different than for which you ought to promote. ask bridal shops whether you could go away your organization enjoying cards on their counter and in return you will provide out their enjoying cards (which you do no longer ought to do even though it is accessible if somebody desires a robust dress save etc in case you have already got their company card) so go away your enjoying cards or flyer at dress shops and party shops. you could additionally evaluate getting an advert interior the newspaper or in bridal magazines. this you could desire to pay for subsequently i assume it is as much as you to choose for whether or no longer the fee is properly worth it. stable success
