Many medications have side effects and the doctor may be aware that a side effect of Inderal is what you are experiencing. A mitral valve prolapse isn't what I would consider "common", but it is not unusual, if you know what I mean.

You can get a second medical opinion and perhaps you should. I say this because you are only 28 yrs old. Yes, young people can have heart problems. One should not ignore the symptoms. If the medication is giving you side effects, perhaps there is another medication that will work for you, or you could reduce the dosage. Only a doctor can tell you. Since your doctor is saying it's all good, but you feel like something is wrong .... consider getting another medical opinion. Doctors are not God and do not know everything. They often disagree with each other too. One doctor may find what another missed.

Best Wishes,
Sue

Call your heart specialist for an appointment now. Talk to him about what's going on and your concerns. If your doctor doesn't give you clear answers to your questions, then find another doctor for a second opinion. Most insurance companies will pay for a second opinion. If in doubt, call the insurance company first.

Don't let a doctor play God with your health. It's up to you to take control. If you don't feel right, then get a second opinion.

PS. Do not ask your doctor to refer you to someone else. Your insurance, friends or local hospital staff (talk to the nursing staff for the cardiac ward) for recommendations.
