If you are diabetic you should not drink a lot of oj it is high in natural sugars which is why they reccommend diabetics drink it when sugar is too low.
Water is really good for you and they have sugar free flavor additives like lemon aid you can add to it. I really enjoy Sierra Mist Free. Pepsi One is a really good diet cola drink. Tea with splenda is good. Diet hot chocolate is good but be careful about using milk instead of water if you are diabetic.
If you are newly diagnosed diabetic maybe your doctor can refer you to nutritionist. I think that most insurance will pay for this, but I'm not positive. Even if you can't get nutritional consult I'm sure your doctor has lots of educational tools he can share with you. You really should speak with him and take control of your disease before it controls you.
Everytime your sugar is up it damages your circulatory system which is why diabetics take longer to heal, go blind, have kidney and heart disease and loose limbs.
Please get informed and take care of yourself. Stop drinking so much juice. It really is dangerous.
My friend was on vacation and had stomach virus and drank too much gator aid and ended up in hospital in another state and suffered a heart attack. He is barely 40 years old.
Talk to your doctor.

I hear you with the soda addiction! I couldn't live without my Coke & a smoke! But changes had to be made.
I'd avoid ALL sugary drinks, wether or not they are made with natural sugars or not. As a rule of thumb, those drinks should be kept for when you crash (sugar level drops too low). At least that's what I was informed of by my Dr. and that's what I do.
Diet Pepsi is the sweetest tasting pop I've tried. It tastes a lot closer to the regular pops than diet coke. My other pop of choice is diet 7-up. I drink less of the stuff but those are the two that I drink.
Just to let you know, I was told by my doctor to drink only water and to avoid diet pops. No real reason was given but he said they weren't good for me.

OJ is a big no no. We give that to our patients when their sugar drops. You need to change your drinking habits if you want to survive. Diabetes is not something you want to mess around with. You need to understand your symptom and you will lose the taste for sugar. Not only understand it but read about what will happen to people who love sugary drinks. Let me put it this way keep your soda or your leg. Yes it can be that serious.

I like diet rite. it comes in severasl different flavors, is sweetened with splends (so i think it tastes better than the aspartame diet sodas) and is caffiene free. There's also the crystal light that is only 5 calories per serving. It tastes pretty good (it's an aspartame drink). One possibility: Every time you have soda, drink an equivalent amount of water.

Orange juice is what I drink if my blood sugar drops too low. It is definitely a no no. Bottled water or Diet Pepsi would be better.

well you first off you have to drink the natrual orange juice with less preservatives..there are so many different brands of orange juice and most of them are ray ray..and natrual sugar is the best for you. things like brown sugar, is good for you. not the white sugar..but remember too much of anything is not good for you.
