The brand in the grocery store labelled "China Lily" is dark or in some stores that have Ethnic sections, there are larger bottled of soya sauce from China, the brand is under a number of names I used Dragon.
Basically it depends were you live, any generic soy is dark, not taht sweet, but there are a number of good one out there, it just depends on the use you have for it, Kikomann tends to be the lightest in colour, light soys are just less salty not colour, if you have an area in town that specialzes in Asian food go and see what they offer.
I am a former chef and like the first respondant go to Toronto quite often, I buy just about every kind available from Chinese, Korean, Thai, Malay and Japanese, all have a slightly different quality but are basically the same.

I can't tell where you are in Canada. If you're in an urban area, then you should have no problems finding a chinese market. In Vancouver, T&T Supermarket will definitely have a good selection.

You shouldn't have any problem finding dark soy in any Chinese/Asian supermarket in Toronto or Toronto suburbs.
