Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and smoking predispose you to a higher likelihood of blood clots than the average person. Even if you were to get a blood clot very few of these clots actually cause a problem (pulmonary embolism) and even fewer cause serious complications from this problem (heart damage, pulmonary infarction, or death) especially for a 29 year old. But there are certainly increased risks and those risks are not anything to ignore.
You have the power to stop the smoking...there's no time like now to start. Believe me you will need to try more than once to get it right. It is the single best thing you can do for your health.
Additionally HRT is an elective medication. There is virtually no absolute need for any woman to ever HAVE to take that medication.
You have the power to change your lifestyle and habits. There is no time like the present to begin. Good luck.

Yes actually, smoking at all is very serious, no matter how old you are. I have been trying to get my mother to stop smoking for a long time now because I want a mom and I also want her to live long enough to know who her grandkids are and what they look like growing up. She is a cool mom and I know that when I have kids that they'll love her. I want her to live long enough for her to know who they are and for them to know who she is so they know a little bit about there family history. I'm already thirteen and I have an addiction to cigarettes and I already hate it. I should have stopped when I had a chance. I know that it's hard and it seems like its almost impossible to quit but, you have to try really hard and convince your body that it's something that you have to do if you want to live longer. Smoking doesn't kill you right away, but it works at you and you start to regret it. I started and kept going mainly because I thought it was cool and also because I liked the feeling it gave me. I liked feeling light-headed. All I have to say is that if you are smokings two packs a day, then that would probably be part of that problem, if not, the whole problem. I know from experience that it's hard to quit, but that's why you should try early while you still have a little bit of a chance so you don't ruin much more of your life. I think the easiest way to quit would be to gradually stop. Start off by making a mental schedule for how often you could smoke by cutting down. Think of it this way, if you smoke two packs a day, change that to at least a pack a day, if that's too much of a change, then probably a pack and a half a day. And then from there gradually make that less and then when you get to the point where you're smoking one cigarette a day, let me know, gottheather@yahoo.com my name is heather and from there if you still want help I can still help you from there. You don't have to I just thought I would give you that option. Well I hope it helps! =)

I imply that's simply loopy, she must were helped quicker than that! I'm considering if there were not ample employees, nurses, and medical professionals there to support her, however for twenty-four hours that is simply loopy. I desire her household does sue and win. And she was once lifeless for an hour earlier than they discovered too!! What style of health center makes any individual wait 24 hours earlier than they get any support? So unhappy.

I'm supposed be dead by now, and I did have a blood clot, eventually, and a stroke,(nearly 25 years later) all for the same reasons you give. But their estimate only scared my children half to death, (they followed around, even to the mailbox, made me make a will) ... the medical world is still trying to get rid of me, for all the same reasons you give. I'm afraid some physicians think they can scare you into compliance with their ideas of what is good for you, and it works with lots of people, just not me.

You smoke 2 packs of cigarettes a day? Why are you wasting doctors' time when you are deliberately killing yourself with cigarettes? Either quit smoking cigarettes or quit wasting important resources like expensive equipment and the time of doctors, which could be better spent helping sensible people.
