I think it's my heart. All I know is that I get really sharp, tight pains on the left side of my chest. It hurts to breathe in... and overall, it feels like something is crushing my heart. Anybody have any suggestions as to what this might be? It's been happening quite often lately.

If the pain is after doing some exercise/walking, then it may be Angina (consult the Doctor immediatly), if it is random, it may be due to some stomach problem, or even some muscular pain. I have recently have Bypass surgery, and studied a lot of literature, if you need any assistance in case of heart problem, then contact me at hafeez_butt@yahoo.com

It might be wise to see the doc but honestly you look so young that it should be fine. Also most problems follow having high blood pressure and being over weight and you don't appear to have any of those...... Are you sure that you've not just had too much caffiene or too many curries? They're hard on the stomach which is in the same place.

Why haven't you been to a doctor? If you're a young woman, I don't think you have heart trouble, but I wouldn't rule it out completely. It sounds like a pleurisy type of pain that accompanies pneumonia. Lots of people have pneumonia without realizing it -- called "walking pneumonia". Or it could be something as simple as sharp gas pains. But why play guessing games? See your doctor to find out for sure.
