No, HSV-1 and HSV-2 are different. They are basically the same thing though, just cold sores.

Get a blood test for HSV-1, you probably have antibodies in your system from when you were a kid. If that's the case, he can go down on you and kiss you wherever with no problems.

If you ave never in your life been exposed to the cold sore/HSV-1 virus it is very possible to get genital HSV-1 from oral sex.

No you can't but if he performs oral sex on you and he has a cold sore and he does not use a dental dam then you can get HSV-1 in your genital area. Just something to think about. When he has an outbreak try to avoid any contact.

No, however, if his mouth comes into contact with that part of your body you can. HSV-1 and HSV-2 are generally oral and genital, respectively, but they can occur anywhere on the body, fingers, torso, anywhere.

No. You will only get HSV1

you can only get HSV 2 if you have "relations" with someone who has it.

HSV-1 can be transmitted to the genital area, and passed along. And your bf doesn't have to have active lesions to do it, either. So make sure he keeps his mouth above your waist.
