You do not know and that is precisely the problem. The virus - Herpes Simplex 1 and 2 - is shed continuously - whether you are symptomatic or not. That is the reason that HSV in present in 50% of young people in this country. In time - that number is expected to exceed 90%.

Well, the HS-1 is the virus that causes the herpes infection on the face. The HS-2 is the type that causes an outbreak in the genitals (or below the waist) a telltale sign is Tingling, itching, Pain, Discomfort, a general feeling of aches and pains, esp. HSV-2. Try to avoid stress and beef up on Vitamins such as Vitamin C (500 mg. daily) and a B-Complex supplement. Hope this helps! :)
