My a1c is 5.5... I have been a diabetic for 30+ years... I have an appt. next week with my doctor, but I would like to know if any one has had alot of their hair come out. I have alot of hair, but when I wash it ... it seems alot is on the floor..... any ideas?

thyroid. Have that checked. Diabetes and thyroid can go hand in hand. If you are a type 1 that is an autoimmune disease and so is hypothyroidism. Sometimes when you have an auto. disease you are prone to getting another. I was diagnosed w/ type 1 and hypothyroisdism at the same time.

Yes, I became diabetic a couple of years ago and about a year ago i started having a horrible problem with hair loss.

We finally narrowed my problem down to soy products. Soy products can be very toxic and mask the hormones of your body.

I don't think your diabetes has anything to do with your hair loss, it has to do with your genes...

Ask your Dr. if it's safe for you use "PROPECIA" it worked wonders on me...

Maybe you are just going bald. It is not necessarily related to your diabetes.
