Two coworkers disagree. 1 claims it is pronounced SO, like sew, this is the one I have always heard. Another says it is pronounced CHOW, who is correct.

Pronunciation
The "Tso" in General Tso might be approximated as "zwoh", but correct pronunciation of Mandarin is not necessarily intuitive for English speakers. See Chinese romanization.

Both are wrong....

TSO is pronounced like sao (sow like wow) with a slight z sound when pronouncing the "s", tzsao

I pronounce it Sow....like when you get hurt and yell Owww, but put an "s" in front of it....yeah, i work with alot of nguyens and then all pronounce it when..hahah

It is TAO (a is soft) almost like ow. Instead of Ch ow -- Say T ow.

well when i go into my neighborhood restaurant they call it so ("sew")
