You'll find a variety in the store. Eat them right out of the can. Salted, unsalted, smoked or not. You can also find them raw. And in the baking aisle you'll find them slivered, crushed or chopped.

Yes, almonds are a good source of more than calcium. They are considered the healthiest nut to consume. The sweet almond is preferred to the bitter almond.
One of the best ways to consume raw almonds is to soak them overnight in apple juice and eat them in your cereal. Soaking softens the almonds and makes them very tasty.
You can also throw a few raw or soaked into your smoothie for extra protein.
Almond Butter is particularly delicious. You can purchase raw or roasted almond butter. Absolutely delicious.
By the way, the best source for calcium is SESAME SEEDS. You can make a smoothie with soaked raw sesame seeds, banana, soft dates and a little sweet fruit like frozen mangos, blueberries. Throw in a few almonds and it is a highly nutritious, high calcium, high protein delicious healthy beverage. Enjoy. Good Luck

Almonds aren't that great a source of calcium - you'll get about 8% of the recommended daily allowance of calcium in an ounce of almonds.

In other words, you'd have to consume over 13 ounces of almonds a day to get all of the calcium you need (you need 1,000 mg a day).

Broccoli would be a better source of bio-available calcium. Sesame seeds are a good source (tahini).
