Our favorite restaurant has this brown enchilada gravy that we just love. Any one know a recipe for something like this? I look every where int he stores but it is that red sauce, which is not what we want. thanks

Sounds to me like you are getting them with mole (mo'lay) sauce instead of the normal chili sauce. It is common to find enchiladas en mole on the menu in our area.

You should be able to find mole sauce in the same area as the other hispanic foods in your grocery store. The brand I buy comes in a small jar and is concentrated, so make sure you read and see if you need to add water to the sauce.

Depends on where you live, but El Paso Company have just bought out a range of Enchilada Dinner Kits and Sachets and you can get the brown gravy mix from them as well. In most of our supermarkets in the last two weeks. They are delicious, I have been trying them every night after our fav restaurant put Enchiladas on the menu.

I think your talking about enmoladas.. mole contains 20 ingrediants darlin and it must be home made or go to a mexican grocery store in the canned beans aisle and look for the concentrated version , in a little glass container with a yellow top and label that says DONA CHONA.. later disolve in water to your taste!
