I test anywhere from 4 to 8 times a day. From the time I awake (about 4:30 am) to bedtime (9:pm), it's about every 2 to 2.5 hours. I feel glad when it's only 4 times, but that means I didn't eat lunch or something. So, what's your point about 1, 2, 3? If it's once a day, it's not nearly enough to know what's happening. If it's twice a day, you're on the right path but there are gaps. Three times is more like it if you want good control of diabetes. If you're Type 1, the more the better. If you're Type 2, well, 2 or 3 is ok but can be better. You can have your doctor write an rx for testing supplies.

At least twice a day, before breakfast and before the evening meal, tho you can test more often such as 2 hours after a meal.
