No. You cannot contract the HIV virus from someone who is not infected. It's like getting blood out of a stone.

But surely, you must be 100% sure that the person you have unprotected sex with doesn't carry the virus! And how can you be 100% sure? That's the 64,000 dollar question. You can rely only on an HIV test results and not on what someone says.

Getting more informations on the subject by educating yourself is of prime importance!

Yes. You can get it through a blood transfusion or body fluid exposure.

If you and the other person have been tested for HIV and neither of you have ever had sex before, you won't get AIDS from unprotected sex, although there are a lot of other things you can get, like pregnant.

No matter what other people tell you, I see lots of girls 9 years old and up, that get pregnant the very first time they have sex! Some of them also get at least one other sexually transmitted disease (STD). The most common is cervical cancer caused by a virus called Human Papilloma Virus or HPV. The youngest girl I've ever diagnosed with cervical cancer was 10 years old. STD's can make it so you can never have children, or they can kill you.

AIDS and HIV are sexually and blood transmitted diseases. But, you can contract HIV and test negative for the first year or so. That's why it's important to be tested often if you are having sex. AIDS can take several years to become symptomatic.

The best way to prevent HIV, AIDS and all STD's is not to have sex. If you have sex, then practice safe sex. Before you have sex for the first time, talk to your mother, aunt, grandma, school counselor or your doctor. You can go to Planned Parenthood for information.

No, you can't catch a disease from somebody that doesn't have it.

BUT...

HIV/AIDS has a very, very long latent period, in which a person can be infected and infectious without showing any symptoms and during which the person has no idea they are infected. This can easily last for ten years, and it's entirely possible that HIV tests will not detect the infection during this period. As well, AIDS is hardly the only sexually transmitted infection out there! Even if you don't catch HIV you could still get any number of awful diseases from sex. Always play safe, without exception!

No. You can only contract AIDS from an infected person through sex, sharing needles for drugs, blood transfusion (though the chances are slim on that one now) and any way body fluids come into contact with an infected person's body fluid.
