you are lying to yourself and until you stop lying to yourself it will be difficult to stop smoking. You know why you smoke and if you can't remember, the next time you pick up a smoke, check yourself out and see what's going on at the time you pick up the smoke: stress, concerns, needing comfort, etc.

Smoking and eating are your support for comfort and handling stressful issues in your life. You will need to make a list of other things to do when you need a smoke as well as when you have the need to overeat. Best of luck.

If you have got discomfort for your chest while you smoke that's very handy in preserving you on monitor. You won't have that discomfort, however hold considering the discomfort you do undergo, the coughing within the morning, or something. In different phrases, while you suppose approximately cigarettes suppose approximately the poor. I did stop bloodless turkey, however that was once the one alternative again then. One trick I discovered very handy was once to make a addiction of now not shopping or wearing cigarettes, and if in some way I did get a few throwing them away. (this works with liquor too). Obviously, you ought to now not be bumming cigarettes both. Think approximately how inexpensive and silly you're to do this. The factor approximately now not shopping cigarettes is that the shopping is a minimum of slightly painful so that's a well location to interfere should you begin again up once more. Likewise when you have began once more and think disgusted that's a well time to throw them within the range (I have a wooden range) after which should you wish extra you could need to purchase them. You simply installed a constant poor wind... Good good fortune! You'll be feeling plenty higher in only a few months.

There are lots of aids to quite smoking, ex: the patch, gum, etc., but you must have a real desire to quite. I am an x smoker and quite over 25 yrs ago. It was just as hard then as it is now. Just think of the benefits of quiting, the better health, more money in your pocket to do things you really like to do, no more being a slave to the drug nicotine.

I think you have to develop a real hatred for tobacco. Also start associating with more non smokers and not going to functions where a lot of people smoke. If you are not around people who smoke, chances are you will not get the same craving you would if your were around smokers. Good luck.

each step lasted a while, not just a week for each.

had one smoke before work, then some after.
had no smokes before work, then some after.
worked 5 days, no smokes til the 5th(Friday) night and then on weekends.
worked 5 days no smokes period, only on weekends.
i realized i could do it by then and just quit.
i couldn't stand the way my hands smelled and my clothes, aaaack.

I smoked for ten years and have finally quit. I quit using SmokeAway. I haven't had a smoke in 2.5 years. One other thing, you will need is lots of hard candy. SmokeAway also has an online support group you can join for free if you like.

when you feel the craving, set a timer and wait for 20 to 30 minutes before you have the cigarette. Eventually, your cravings will get farther and farther apart, until they just go away
