I have constant sinus issues, pressure with terrible headaches and drainage. The doctor has given advice but none works for very long periods. Any tried remedies anyone has tried without constantly having to take medicine.

My family is plagued with it. My mom the worse. If you smoke the first thing you want to do if you don't want to quit is smoke outside. It keeps the smoke and tar down in the home. Frequent dusting. Also if you don't have one now get a humidifier. Whole house if possible if not keep a pot of water on the boil but not to where your walls sweat. This will cause other issues. Tea, hot tea inhaled as well and drinking it especially when you get a sinus headache. I hope some of this helps.

The first thing that needs to be done is get a set of sinus x-rays to find out what is going on. A set of sinus x-rays will tell if there is something wrong or if you have a sinus infection etc. If it is a sinus infection you may need a long course of antibiotics to totally get rid of it since you may have had it for a while. You also need to use a good mulitvitamin and a good antioxidant supplement daily to keep your immune system healthy so you don't get sinus infections/sinusitis any more. Get the x-rays first to find out what is going on if the doc hasn't already done sinus x-rays. Also if your doc isn't really helping you much you may want to see an ENT doc to a better diagnosis.

I would seek a ear nose and throat doctor(ENT). I have had sinus problems all my life and the allergist just made me take medicine that never helped. You probably have chronic sinuous idious (chronic sinus infection)

They are highly trained in this field and you will probably end up with a surgery that will make a permanent fix. They look for the cause of your problem rather then trying to treat the symtoms.

it could be your anti bodies are too low, it could be a bone structure problem, allergies always contribute.

Good luck i went through what you are its terrible. I finally went to an ENT to find from a cat scan i need surgery like most people.

Now days most doctors are starting not to pack that white gauss up your nose.

My wife had sinus trouble for more than ten years. the doctor told her that she needed to have an operation to expand the holes in the nasal passage. continual infections.
At the time i was studying Naturopathy.
I gave her a herbal mix - with eyebright taken continually for 3 mths
she has not had a problem in 3 years.
unfortunately the best source of eyebright is from a naturopath (Mediherb brand which is Australian).

since then i have helped many people. it is best that you get a remedy that is tailored to your needs.
in the long run it will save you many dollars given to products that only treat the symptoms.

kind Regards

This works for some people so you might want to give it a shot. Alfalfa is a natural way to keep your sinuses clear. The first time I started taking it, I drained so much for a month but felt better.

My sinuses haven't really been an issue since...

I can find it at Walmart in the vitamin section in tablet form.

Take a humidifier (hot steam) put a heavy bath towel over it and over the top of your face so you can breathe in the steam, you have to be careful although it doesn't get that hot it's still hot. Put some Vick's in it. Do this to open the sinus. The doctor can give you Allegra D to help.

Afrin, but do not use it for more than 5 days in a row.. Then stop for at least 3 days. You can use it in conjunction with your regular meds weather they be over the counter or prescription.
