It's the silent killer, there are really no visual signs.

Health Tip: High Blood Pressure, a Silent Killer

(HealthDay News) -- Blood pressure is the pressure of blood applied to the walls of the arteries when the heart beats (the top number -- called systolic pressure), and when it's at rest (diastolic pressure).

Normal blood pressure for adults is considered less than 120 over 80, the American Heart Association says.

Often there are no signs or symptoms of high blood pressure. Yet it directly raises a person's risks of heart attack and stroke.

It's best to have your blood pressure checked at least once every two years, the association says. If you have high blood pressure, also called hypertension, your doctor may recommend changes in diet, getting more exercise, quitting smoking, and in some cases, medication.

The doctor is NOT the best place to get your blood pressure checked. Do it at the pharmacy or at home. Write it down. Do this several times over a couple of days and bring it to your doctor. This way the doctor will see a true picture of your readings.
If you do have high blood pressure, it really does pay to buy a home blood pressure monitor. That way you can monitor new medication yourself to see if its working.
I would insist on going on medication if your blood pressure is above 140/90. The perfect blood pressure used to be 120/80, but they changed the guidelines this year and now its 110/70. If you have blood pressure thats 120/80 or less, then you are good.

go to the local pharmacy or walmart and ask where the blood pressure test is. then stick your arm in and be sure to RELAX or else the results will be higher. at the end of the test it'll tell you if you're in the normal range or not. if you aren't in the normal range, go see a doctor.

go to the doctor and find out, or most pharmacies have a free blood pressure monitor, just stick your arm in it and find out, if it is high, you should still go to the doctor and see how serious it is and what can be done about it.

Most pharmacies have blood pressure machines that you can self test on. But your best bet is to see your doctor.

go to your Doctor he is the only one that can tell you and also advise you as to how to handle it, maybe you just need to work out or learn to relax and if these do not apply he will give you medican to lower it.
