Does any one have any tips on how to have a retro party? any clothes, favors, food that would be appropriate?

It really depends on what era you would like to do, and how much time you have to prepare. For instance, if you wanted to do an 80s party (a reallly good idea, because it is not too hard to get 80s stuff), you would want to give yourself plenty of time to acquire stuff from that era that is original and would cause people to see it and say, "Oh yeah! I forgot about that!"
For example if you were doing an 80s party here are some ideas:
A cut out from an 80s movie (like E.T, Tron, or Back to the Future, maybe Teen Wolf)
Maybe for snacks you could make an alcoholic "ecto cooler"
Program a playlist of your favorite 80s music on your iPod and hook it up to your stereo.
How about those little crackers & cheese with the little plastic knife (very 80s)
Borrow an Atari and play pac man, pitfall frogger etc
wear your jeans pinch rolled and a Twisted Sister T Shirt with the sleeves cut off.
Offer 80s band T shirts as favors.
Rent a DVD of past episodes of Alf
Flouescent day glow balloons/streamers and black light.
These are all just suggestons/ideas.
Look for stuff on craigslist, eBay, ask around.
Sometimes you will see something at a flea market and think "Holy ****! this is perfect for my 70s, 80s etc party"
If you put plenty of planning and brainstorming, be original and ask around you will be able to make a kick *** party!

colorful clothing and pinstripes orange is always good. and go for home cooking. and spots have sooo much fun with the spots.
