Tell her to read the warnings that come with her prescriptions, that is enough proof there. You can also call your pharmacist and tell what medications your mom is taking and he/she will tell you the same thing.

You mom already know what she is doing and she is aware what she is doing is wrong, she have a serious problem and she is not ready to get help. You have to try to be strong, because your mom is hurting deep down inside, and she drinks to numb the pain. I know the feeling. I don't drink like that, but I know I have taken a pain pill to help me sleep when I could not or did not want to deal with issues in my life.

Please be strong and if you need someone to talk to I am here for you.

Did I learn thoroughly? You mentioned you could have a 22 12 months ancient son (grown guy) or a two 12 months ancient infant? Lady, your son isn't a child anymore. Soon, he will get married and feature a household of his possess. Are you going to watch for your grandchildren to begin institution first, so you'll have a child? If your physician tells you you are in well wellness and offers you and your husband the "inexperienced gentle", I do not see why you would not provide your husband the enjoyment of getting a baby with you (his first baby). Are you kidding me? Let pass already!

Make a doctor's appointment and go with her. I'm sure the doctor could show her what she wants. (or really doesn't want.)Either way, you'll know that the doctor knows what your mom does so he can treat her accordingly. If she won't take responsibility for her health care, he will.

Also, depending on what kind of insurance she has, a lot of them have nurses on call 24/7 with a toll free number you can call. I'm sure they could get you what you're looking for. Look at her insurance card and call customer service. They should be able to give you the right number.

Tell your mother she needs professional help to help her quit and go thru withdrawal. I am sure she knows alcohol will kill her. As a nurse I have seen many people die from liver failure due to alcohol abuse.
I hope you have other family members willing to help you with this problem. Human services departments or public health departments have social workers and nurses who can help you make the correct decisions. Call them on MONDAY. Your mother may be past the point of makeing any good decisions and you need the help and support of others.
Good luck.

WOW!! This is highly highly dangerous!

All it takes is 1 miscombined dosage of the alcohol and prescription medications and it could kill her.

Alcohol increases the effects of medications and street drugs as well. The potency of this is extremely dangerous.

I could go on and on about all of the effects on health and serious problems, permanent injury and death from combining drugs and alcohol but I think you are already very well aware. To help give your mom more clarification on this, I've included 3 website links that might help.

She definitely needs to listen to her doctor.
You need to make darn sure your mother's doctor(s) know that she is combining alcohol with her medications. She may not be happy about it, but for her own good, they would put your mother in rehabilitation and work with her on the correct ways to deal with her chronic pain and other ailments.

I'm sorry that she's in so much pain and is struggling this way. Good luck to you and your mother.
((((((hugs))))))

that won't do the job...denial has set in hard....

if she will not listen to family nor doctor--get judge to name a guardian- have her committed for mental eval... judge then can make any necessary recommendations--she will abide by judge
decree and not --quote any written proof...
she could be dead before she accepts...any second or third hand source...
