I feel as though a Cheerio is stuck in my lung, but I don't know if that's my real problem; eating breakfast can be a complex task for me.

Well if it feels like there is a cheerio in your lung i think going to the doctor would be the best thing to do. You know i think that when you eat breakfast it doesn't go through your lungs.......well just go to the doctor, or maybe you should eat some smooth delicious jell-o if there is something in your chest bothering you the smooth sensation of jell-o running through your chest or lungs or throat or whatever just might make you feel better, and if it doesn't, well it doesn't matter because you ate some jell-o : ) : ) : )

Well, the aspiration of anything into your lung is not a good thing. If indeed you inhaled a cheerio, then you will need to go to the doctors to have it removed or you will develop pneumonia, and land in the hospital for a few weeks. Your lung does not have the capability to absorb the cheerio, so it will be attacked like the foreign body that it is, and you will develop pneumonia as the result of the attack. It will need to be removed in a procedure called a bronchoscopy, where you are put under conscious sedation and a small, long and flexible bronchoscope is passed down your trachea and into your lung, and the doctor will search your lung for the cheerio and extract it using the scope. It does not hurt, but most people develop a sore or itchy throat as a result.

I have actually seen this happen to a lot of people, people accidentally aspirating their morning vitamin or even a tooth, and believe me, it is no laughing matter, it is serious and could be very detrimental to your health is nothing is done.

If you really think that you aspirated a Cheerio in your lung then you really need to go to the doctor and have it checked out. If left in there it could really cause some pulmonary health problems. If you do have a Cheerio in your lung then the doctor would have to do a bronchoscopy on you to remove it. A bronchoscopy is a scope that is put down through your mouth and goes into your lungs with a camera attached to it. The doctor then can see on a,TV screen, where the Cheerio is and with a retractable claw that is attached to the scope will remove it.

James, we could only wish that there would be a natural self administering remedy for not just lung cancer but all cancers, unfortunately we haven't found it as of yet, we would all like to by-pass the invasive current medical treatments but that is our only choice if there is some hope of coming out the other side. So go to the doc's, grin & bare it, there are no guarantee's but that's the best you can do, I wish you well.

OH MY GOSH!!! a cheerio in your lung?! You should go to the doctor immediatly and have that checked out!!! I pray that the cheerio is retrieved from your lung and you won't have any more trouble eating breakfast after the cheerio is removed.

It is absolutely possible to aspirate a cherrio. You would get pretty sick and end up with an obstructive pneumonia - fever, shortness of breath and a alot of pain. If you seriously think you did that you should see a doctor - there is no home remedy.

Trust me the cheerio is most likely not in your lung as it would have dissolved by now.
