Well, my friend is a type 1 and she has two sisters. Sadly, all three have it and I hang out with them a lot so I know a ton. 1st off, try to limit the ammount of carbs you eat because the more carbs, the more insulin you have to inject or pump. So, also drink water when your blood sugar level is high because when you drink, you have to pee and when you pee, you are releasing some of the blood sugar. If you're low, Drink a Juicy Juice Box of any flavor which totally brings you up like 20 or something. Ummm..... Just do what you're doing and possibly my suggestions and see how that works. Also, are you using a lancet or a lancing device? The best lancing device is prolly a BD where you pull the bottom and push the blue button. If you keep using a lancing device, you should change your needle every month unless it's contaminated before then. Don't use a regular non-reusable lancet more than once.
Check your blood sugar levels more often too to maintain a target number of about 95-115.

i had extremely bad control with my diabetes...averaging a blood sugar of about 20 everyday!...my diabetic doctor was very concerned and decided that it would be a good idea to put me on 4-5 injections a day...that might sound alot but if you eat then you take your fast acting insulin...if you don't eat then you don't have to take it.....there is only one injection that you HAVE to take whether you eat or not is the slow acting insulin...i hope i haven't confused you but i think that you seriously need to speak to your paediatrician to sort this problem out because it can cause bad medical conditions in later years
i hope you sort it out soon

I had good results in controlling my sugar levels by strictly following 1.the Medication prescribed.2.Diet as per diet chart.
3 Daily taking brisk walk for abut 60 minutes. and i4. n addition taking Karela Tablets marketed by Ayurvedic Concepts and also Diabcare Tablets. Pl keep checking your Blood Sugar level once a fortnigh. If you can afford the cost of strips you can by the AccuCheck Blood Sugar level Monitor at home.
Please pray to Lord Guruvayurappan every day and put aside Rs10 every month for offering an annual 'Milk Payasam' (Kher) at Sri Guruvayur Temple. Have faith and Pray.It really helps.
Best of Luck

The only exercise that maks diference in diabets is "walk", You must waks to produce tranpiration on entire body. If not... the exercise is not working! Try it at leest 40 minuts and than take the insuline. The final result will be very good!!!

I too inject insulin and I find I have to control the amount of fat in my diet as much as I do the sugar. You don't say how much insulin you take ,but you could ask your doctor about increasing it

the more active i am the lower it goes - sometimes if you are taking too much insulin it can do the opposite and not work well and your sugars can be high -- i would check with your doctor or your diabetic nurse and see what changes need to be made -- carbs also shoot my sugars up -- so try fewer carbs as well...

I don't think it's how much you eat, but WHAT you're eating. Check out the Glycemic Index and eat foods with low GI and avoid ones with high GI. You can lower the GI of most foods by adding a protien, as well.
