The waste from certain food causes the different smells in the urine. Study what you are eating to find out the cause of the smell.
Sometimes it is also caused by medication. Study your intake to find out the cause and if you do not find any underlying foods causing the problem see your Dr.

Some foods and also vitamin supplements can sometimes make urine smell weird, but if it smells genuinely offensive ("fishy", so that if you raise a specimen close to you, you instinctively back off), then you may have a UTI (urinary tract infection), even if you don't have any other symptoms such as pain on urination, frequent need to urinate, fever, etc. Also look at the sample: if it's cloudy or has blood in it, this can indicate a UTI.
Do bear in mind that people with diabetes have a higher risk of UTI.

Have you spoken to your dr? 2+ sugar = you're likely to have diabetes (sorry). I don't think that that's what's causing your urine to smell though, maybe a urine infection (common if you have diabetes).
Sorry this isn't better news but go to your dr - both can be treated and you'll probably feel better than you've felt in a while once you start treatment. Good luck xx

Some foods (such as asparagus), vitamins, and antibiotics (such as penicillin) can cause urine to develop an unusual odour. A sweet, fruity odour may be caused by uncontrolled diabetes. A urinary tract infection (UTI) can cause a foul odour. Urine that smells like maple syrup can indicate maple syrup urine disease, a condition caused by the body's inability to break down certain amino acids.

it may be just an infection. Is it very diluted as well? Go to the doctor and do a full laboratory urine test and maybe ask for a fasting blood glucose as well. Good luck.

It could be things you eat, it could be meds that you are on or it could simply be that your urine is highly concentrated. Make sure that you are drinking enough water (about 64oz daily) and that will dilute your urine. Urine can have a very strong (sometimes putrid) smell if it is highly concentrated (not enough water in it).

I'm not a dr but I had that happen when I was a kid and the dr made me quit eating so much protein and do more vegtables and fruit. Do a variety. Good luck.
