There is no cure for influenza. Rest and liquids are the main treatments. The antiviral drugs amantadine and rimantadine may prevent or reduce the severity of influenza type A, but they are not effective against type B. Another antiviral drug, zanamivir, was approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in July 1999 for the treatment of influenza infections caused by both type A and type B viruses.

The Spanish flu killed more people than both wars and black plague and was of great virility. It spread like wild fire and killed its victims in a few hours. The flu killed more young people than old. And their was no time to find a cure. The flu came and went leaving so many bodies that mass burial was needed to keep up. Today they have antivirals and more advanced medicines but if a similar plague was to strick today the results would still be catastrophic! Because of the speed that it spreads in fact due to more dense population and many more vehicles and airplanes if it resurfaced today it could be worse! Their is currently no great supply of vaccine or medicines that could halt it.

There is no real cure, just rest, drink plenty of fluids, and if you aren't allergic to flowers, pick up some echinacea from the local drugstore as this helps to boost your immune system and get rid of illnesses a lot quicker.
