Presumably you are referring to cardiac stents which are drug eluding. Interestingly it is estimated that the coating has stopped emitting appreciable amounts of medication after two months. The stent ideally will become epilthelialized (skin grows over it) in the arterial wall; thus eliminating the need for medication.

It may never go away. Think of it this way, if you had to take a little white pill in order for your blood pressure to remain "normal", would you feel the same way? Even though most people don't think about it, there still is a stigma related to the so-called "mental health illnesses". Just because anxiety is labeled as a "mental health" issue at this time, doesn't mean that you're "nuts" and that you have control over your illness. Anxiety is symptoms that you feel in your body (increased heart rate, shaking, overall nervousness, GI problems, etc) due to chemical imbalances in the brain. You didn't cause yourself to have anxiety and you cannot cause yourself to not have it. If the medication is working, then keep taking it!
