When I was about 15 years old I ate a whole jar of black kalamata olives. I puked, it was disgusting.

For many years after that I couldn't even look at olives.

Imagine that taste of vomit, mix it with a lot of salty, bitter, oily, chewed up olive. That's what I tasted in my mouth every-time I saw an olive.

Eventually the fondness came back. Slowly and in moderation, every-thing's good in the end.

Bitter gourd and spinach - as a child I was told I would have lovely long hair if I eat spinach and I would almost hold my breath and eat it.

Also bitter gourd was really really bitter! I was sort of forced to eat a little each time it was made. Now I absolutely love both - sometimes crave for it.

(Both preparation were made in Indian style with spices etc)

For the brussel sprout man/woman, try cooking them in salted water until they just start to go soft then take them from the pan and blend them with double cream and pepper. Blend until you have a puree and try that, looks funny but tastes out of this world.

I know that it's not 'food', but when I was young I couldn't stand the smell of coffee, but now, 20/30 years later, I have to have my caffeine, daily & very very strong.

Peanut butter. As a child it used to make me gag, but now I love it. The crunchy one is best spread thickly on toast so that it sticks to the palette of your mouth!!!

Also cucumber and coleslaw, i hated them, but absolutely love them now!
