Noodles are a very general term applied to all types of stringy starch forms. They come from all parts of the world...you can have pasta noodles, rice noodles, Chinese-style noodles, ramen noodles, egg noodles, soba noodles, vermicelli, "cellophane" noodles, I could go on and on. They're not limited to Italian food, is what I'm saying.
Spaghetti is a specific size of pasta noodle. Pasta noodles come in all different thicknesses and sizes...you have linguini and angel hair, for example. Spaghetti noodles are about in the middle, and round. Some pasta noodles are flat, or thinner than spaghetti.

Noodles were developed by the Chinese a long time ago. Marco Polo discovered them there and brought the idea back to Italy. The Italians then started making spaghetti and, well the rest is history.

Spaghetti is one variety of noodle.
Noodles are what Americans called pasta until we started using Italian words like pasta, fusilli, farfalle, or penne.
Also, spaghetti is always wheat flour based. "Noodles" in general could be batter-based (spatzle), rice based (cellophane noodles), or Udon or other asian noodles.
